| Description: | Description: We are looking for Senior Research Associate and/or Ph.D. Scientist with broad biomarker experience utilizing immunohistochemical assays primarily in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) specimens with an emphasis on fluorescent techniques, but should also be well-versed in chromogenic assays.The ideal candidate will have worked at the bench in a busy, multifaceted translational medicine department and/or biotech/pharmaceutical company with exposure to a variety of different antibodies, assay formats and specimens including human and animal cells and tissues. Exposure to working with general histology laboratory techniques such paraffin-embedded tissue sectioning and tissue microarray (TMA) preparation is preferred. Qualifications: * B.S. / M.S. and/or Ph.D.Exposure to and/or worked in clinical-type laboratories where regulatory and standardization protocols were utilized. * Must be detail oriented and well organized. * A basic clinical knowledge and vocabulary is required. * Well versed in basic computer programs including Word and Excel to manipulate spreadsheet data. Responsibilities: * Performing daily immunofluorescent (IF) multiplex testing in the commercial laboratory. * Testing and validating antibodies, fluorescent probes and master mixes used in our immunofluorescent testing. * Maintaining inventories and forecasting use of antibody and IF probes. * The candidate will be responsible for basic user preventative maintenance of robotic staining equipment as well as performing validation and verification of new equipment. * Working with the laboratory manager in trouble shooting and process improvement of IF testing. * Working with the Chief Scientific Officer in the research development of new tests. |
